Solutions for a Perfect System
Roeber's understands that more goes into your total comfort system than just HVAC equipment. When making recommendations for either a new system or repair, Roeber's will consider:
- Your home's design - taking into consideration the entire structure in order to choose the best system for your needs.
- The duct design - a poor design will perform poorly regardless of how good the equipment is.
- The load on the entire home - on a room-by-room basis - in order to have a consistent temperature throughout your home.
- The delivered air volume - is there enough duct work?
- Installation - the finest HVAC equipment in the world is only as good as the installation.
High Efficiency
Roeber's has been committed to energy efficiency for decades. This is important when considering both heating and cooling your home. While many of us won't complain about the warm California weather, we might complain about our large utility bill that is due to an inefficient HVAC system.
- Everything we design and install is above 90% AFUE and above 14-SEER. That's paying attention to your bottom line.
- Don't sell yourself short on your system. The extra SEER point or AFUE percentage adds up to dollars in your pocket. Our customers enjoy the top tier rebates from the utility company and the highest federal tax credit available.
- Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) - something we've all heard about. New HVAC equipment has remote filtration that is not inside the furnace cabinet. These advanced filters keep everything cleaner - your home, lungs, blower motor, heat exchangers and duct system resulting in less maintenance and fewer repairs.
- The HVAC system in your home can add up to 60% of the total monthly utility cost for your building. Even high efficiency equipment can cost 40% or more of your monthly utility bill.. Roeber's has the ultimate solution for that. We call it "Reduction-Production".
- What is "Reduction-Production"?
First we design the most energy efficient system that can be installed in your home, thus reducing your energy consumption. Then we add a modest Solar-Photovoltaic generation system to produce electricity and offset the remaining cost . . . Reduction-Production.
EXAMPLE
Your AC runs on 220-volt power. A reasonably efficient system will consume about 10 amps of energy, or 2,200 watts of power consumed per hour. That equates to 2.2 Kilowatts per hour. Your energy bill is based on Kilowatts per hour. The average American home consumes between 3.5 to 7 Kilowatts per hour. Thus, your HVAC system is 40-60% of your utility costs. A modest sized Solar Photovoltaic system can easily generate that power, basically erasing that cost off of your utility bill. . . Reduction-Production. The added benefit to this, when you aren't running your HVAC system, and the sun is shining, is that you are still generating power. Essentially, your Solar system is running your meter backwards; saving you money.
Does new HVAC equipment make a difference?
Choosing good products is always the smart thing to do; but choosing a good contractor like Roeber's is smarter. New equipment does have an impact:
- Modern equipment works on lower duct pressure.
- Newer systems also have larger duct systems which allow for even air distribution.
- Equipped with computer controls.
- More safety features not found in older systems like:
- Pressure sensors, for exhaust gas backup.
- Flame sensors that make sure that the system did ignite.
- Temperature sensors that shut the system down if it overheats.
- On board computer diagnostics
- Variable speed blowers. To some this might sound like a lot of expensive mumbo-jumbo. It really isn't. Variable speed ECM fan motors cost much less to operate than standard PCM motors. The other advantage is that they are quieter, and can adapt to what the onboard computer is calling for; more air or less air.
Not all homes are created equal. Roeber's fits the system to your home's structure, not the other way around. Contact us to learn more about our services or schedule an appointment.
